Assisted Living Providers Honor Hodes & Landy

Orlando, Fla. – The nation’s leading association for assisted living providers has presented an Award for Excellence to Nancy Hodes and Ginger Landy of Hodes & Landy for their role in advocating for New York’s first comprehensive assisted living law and regulations.
"The State of New York stands as a beacon for the rest of the nation in implementing high but sensible standards for assisted living" said Richard Grimes, the President/CEO of the Assisted Living Federation of America (ALFA), the trade association for assisted living companies. "Hodes & Landy worked tirelessly on first the law and then the regulations that give heft and meaning to the 2004 Assisted Living Reform Act on behalf of the New York Chapter of the Assisted Living Federation of America."

Nancy Hodes accepted the Award for Excellence at ALFA’s annual conference and exposition in Orlando last month. She is the founder and a principal in Hodes & Landy, a New York State lobbying firm based in Albany.

New York finalized regulations to implement the Assisted Living Reform Act and recently licensed the first assisted living communities in the State. ALFA works with its state affiliates and chapters to raise the bar for excellence in every state. Every state regulates or licenses assisted living, the fastest growing long term care option for frail seniors in the United States. In recent years assisted living has emerged as the option of choice for seniors who desire assistance with activities of daily life and health care services as they age in place.
